Chapter 7 Stuart and Hannah got back to there hut just as it was getting dark, they had been laughing and giggling all the way back, they were happy with the outcome of there visit to father Hopgood and felt that he understood their situation and was more than willing to help. In the kitchen area Hannah was preparing a meal for the two of them, nothing special, just eggs chips and beans with bread and butter, Stuart sat at the table watching her, as he did he began to realise what he saw in this woman, yes she was facing away from him, but as he watched her work cooking, he saw something very special, and he very much liked what he saw, he also began to realise that, yes he was falling in love with her and he wanted her to be his wife. His main concern was what would the boss say, and would marrying Hannah jeopardise the job, he knew that this was a possible 6 year commitment which he wanted to undertake, but would Hannah be happy with the situation. Hannah turned, in her hands, she h
Chapter 6 Early on the Saturday morning Hannah and Stuart took the Range Rover into Valletta, they parked up in the square next to the Barrakka Gardens, Hannah took Stuart's hand and lead him into the gardens and they stood together looking out over the harbour, they were still holding hand as Hannah pointed out the three cities of Paula, Senglea and Cospicua, as she pointed out Paula she said. That is where My family live, but I never see them, when I was offered the job of coming to England and working with you, my mother went crazy saying a good Maltese girl does not leave her home to go galavanting all round the world, she stays here and marries a good Maltese man who will give her a home and children". she squeezed Stuart's hand and looked at him. "I think I have found the man I want to marry, I think I have found the man I want to set up home with, and who will give me the family that I want, but I also know, we have a job to do, and that takes priority over a h
Chapter 5 Over the weekend, Hannah and Stuart worked on the plans for the site, but also worked on each other, they spent the weekend enjoying what each of them had to offer the other, and Stuart was beginning to understand about women, and as he said in bed on the Sunday night, "Hannah I think we have something very special". and as she held him in her arms and they kissed, she knew it, yes she was Maltese and Stuart was English, but she was learning that English men we not like Maltese men, they were gentle with there women, treated them as equals and when talking, was prepared to sit and listen, most Maltese men took the attitude that they were the ones in charge and they made the final decisions which had put Hannah of the men in her local town, and she tended to stay away from it and all that it held for her. Hannah was really hoping that Stuart would be the man for her, she was falling for him, and even when she poured out her heart to him, and he held her in his arms,
Chapter 4 Stuart and Hannah were woken by knocking at the door, it was Monday morning, Stuart looked at his watch, it was 7am and the sun was up and the day was beautiful, Stuart went to the door and outside was a large group of men, the man who had knocked the door was dressed in a suit and on his head was a flat cap, he looked a little like Andy Cap, and Stuart had to stifle a laugh. The man started to talk to Stuart, but Stuart put his two hands up. "Haven't a clue what you are saying my friend, do you speak English". The man tried to say he was the new foreman and waving his arm at the rest of the men with him said in broken English that they were the workforce. It was then that Hannah came to the door and spoke to the man in Maltese, she then explained to Stuart that the man was called Michael Borge and he was the format for the new workforce who were going to make the site into a beautiful campsite for everyone who came to Malta. Michael was invited into the hut an
Chapter 3 The flight to Malta went very well, the inflight meal was a choice of either chicken with veg or a mild curry, Stuart went for the curry and Hannah decided on the chicken, as they were eating and enjoying the flight Hannah tried to give Stuart some idea of what Malta was like, four islands in the middle of the Mediterranian sea 60 odd miles from Sicily, Malta being the largest, then Gozo, Comino and Filfa which was a bird sanctuary, but used to be part of the gunnery firing range for the Royal Navy, when they had bases on the island, now, of course, the island was a tourist beauty spot with hotels everywhere, but a lot of people liked to drive down through Italy take the ferry across to Malta and spend a few days enjoying the sunshine, but with nowhere to go, the government took it on themselves to check out some sites in England and when they came to your site, they were so impressed, they had to have the same sort of thing on Malta. "So my dear Stuart, we are on our wa
Chapter 2 Over the next 8 weeks, Stuart did his best to teach Hannah all that he knew, the paperwork side of the job was very easy, a family book a 7 or 14 day holiday, they send a deposit and their name is added to the list of people coming to the site, then when they arrive on site, the rest of the money must be paid, they are then given a pitch, a map of the site and all the information they need to enjoy a fantastic holiday. Hannah soon got that sorted, but seemed to have the problem of meeting and talking to the holidaymakers, she seemed very shy, and could not push herself forward, yes she had the smile and the twinkle in her eyes, but it was the actual opening up with the conversation she had problems with, Stuart was very outgoing, and had the ability to talk to anyone, even the children, and when he did that, it was as if the whole family he was talking to seemed to relax and open up, and by doing this, they, it seemed enjoyed there holidays more, and came back year after year
The Sunshine Holiday Camp Chapter 1 Stuart was 25, he was a good looking young man, 5 foot 6 inches tall with light brown hair, grey eyes and a cheeky grin on his face, he was the outdoors type of guy, happier walking around his place of work, than in the office doing paperwork. Stuart was the under manager on a very large campsite in Devon, his boss was very seldom at the site so that Stuart had full control of everything that went on, and with Stuart in charge and the sort of manager who was more than happy to talk to all the guests, the site was full most of the time. Stuart had been at the site since leaving school, at 15, seems his father and the owner were friends, and to be honest Stuart's father wanted his son to, a) get from under his mother's feet and b) get a worthwhile job. At school Stuart was the dunce of the class, he was in the lowest stream in the school and whenever he had maths or English, he was almost permitted to do his own thing, he did learn a bit about
Chapter 20 Family Life Living in our new bungalow with our children was fantastic, it took us a short while, that when either of our children woke up, the other would follow, in my mind, children only cry for three reasons, 1) they are hungry, 2) they are wet, and 3) they are not very well, with William and Rose, the first two were very easy to deal with, but number 3 seemed a little more of a problem, and being twins, our two youngsters felt each other's symptoms, so if one woke up hungry, the other would wake up as well, but we soon got things sorted and life became although a sort of ritual, it was one we both enjoyed and were happy to tolerate. One thing the children did enjoy, was going off in the campervan, their bed was in the roof with a special net to stop them falling out, we bought a double buggy for them and when on site, would wheel them everywhere, with me pushing the buggy and Anna's arm in mine, or her hand on mine on the handles of the buggy, we looked like a
It was the night of Christmas eve, both Anna and I had gone for a slow walk, and were heading for the old boathouse, Anna was giggling, she had the idea that we were going to try something, but had no idea what. Michael, I do want you to make love to me, and I want you to make love to me here, but I am wondering how you plan to do it". we went to our pillar and Anna stood with her back to it, we held each other and kissed. "Ok loverboy, how do we make love with me in this condition". I turned Anna round so that she was facing the pillar, and with her two hands resting on the upright, then raising her dress at the back, we made love. I must admit, it wasn't wholly successful, but we did it anyway like Anna said. "Sorry love, you didn't fill the vault, but it did feel good just having you try". Arm in arm we headed back to the hotel, I told Anna to go up to the room, I went to the bar and with a San Mig and a lemonade and lime on a small tray joined her.
I looked at my watch, it was time to get ready for dinner, making our way to the dining room we were greeted at the door by  Henry. "Hello sir, madam nice to have you back, I have reserved your table for all your meals". he then escorted us to our table that looked out over the creek, he then helped Anna to her seat and removed the reserve sign from the table. "Does sir, madam want the usual bottle of wine". "Yes please Henry". I said, "But can we make it a half bottle every night, as you can see, , the wife will only have the one glass, just to be sociable". "Very good sir, I do understand". he walked away with a smile on his face. We enjoyed our dinner, the menu had not changed too much, and for that we were grateful, it meant that both Anna and myself could eat everything put in front of us. We left the dining room at around 21-15 and headed for the bar, on leaving the dining room I quietly said to Henry. "Sorry Henry, no tip to
Looking through the clear plastic windows in the roof, I could see the stars and everything seemed perfect. As Anna snuggled into me she said. "Michael love is everything alright, you seem to be miles away". "Yes love". I said placing my arm around her neck, I was able to hold her right breast in the palm of my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I was just thinking to my self, where were you when I was 18, you could have been a sailors pen pal, then girlfriend and wife, when I think about all we have dipped out on over the years, it makes me want to cry". "I know love". Anna said. "But we have found each other now, and that is all that matters, what we have achieved in 4 months is fantastic. Think about it, we fell for each other on a windswept airport, had a two week holiday on a wonderful little Island in the Med, came home, set up home together, I fell pregnant which was a miracle in its self, we got married and are now man and wife.
