Chapter 13

On the Wednesday evening, Stuart and Hannah make there way to Luqa Airport to pick up the boss and Brenda, they have been booked into a very nice hotel in St Pauls Bay, Stuart found out talking to the boss that they had made arrangements to stay on the Island for 14 days, so It was agreed that Stuart and Hannah would leave the Range Rover with them for there own use. Stuart and Hannah left the boss and Brenda to sign in and said that they would see in the morning at the campsite. Then Stuart and Hannah walked along the bay to the campsite, it was a beautiful evening, the moon was full and gave off a very romantic glow, as they walked holding hands, they could hear the water lapping on the sand. Back at the campsite Stuart and Hannah lay in there bed, they could still hear the water lapping on the rocks under their bedroom window. "Stuart". Hannah said. "Are you tired, because if not, will you make love to me". she waited for the reply or Stuart's hand on her, but all she heard was the steady rhythm of Stuart's breathing, he was sound asleep. Then Hannah realised that with all the planning that had taken place for the opening ceremony tomorrow, Stuart was all in, this work over the past two and a half years had been hard, and now that the job was complete, all Stuart wanted to do was take life a little easy, enjoy the fruits of his labour, and after tomorrow, he could do just that.

Stuart was up early on the Thursday, he and Michael were running around the site making sure that everything was ready for the grand opening at midday. The boss and Brenda arrived on site at 10 am, Brenda and Hannah went to the caravan and had coffee whilst Stuart gave the boss a guided tour of the site. Back at the caravan with Michael, they were talking about the future, and both the boss and Brenda ask Stuart and Hannah if they are prepared to stay on and do the next 3 years running the site with the staff that has been recruited. Hannah looks at Stuart, she smiles and Stuart can see in her face that she is more than happy with the idea. Stuart then tells the boss that he and Hannah are planning to have a family, Brenda stands up and walks over to Stuart's chair. Stand up and give you mother a hug". she says, then looking at Hannah she says". he will make a good father, I know I am only his foster mum, but since he was 15 I have been there for him and love this man as if he was my own. I have watched him grow from a boy who knew nothing to a man who any mother would be proud of". She kissed his cheek and returned to her seat. Michael was looking at his watch. "I think its time to go". he said.

The opening ceremony went very well, the campsite was opened by the Prime Minister of Malta with all his dignitaries around him including the Chief of Police, the Fire Chief, father Hopgood read the blessing on behalf of the Church of England, and the Bishop of Malta blessed the campsite and wished it every success, then everyone made their way to the clubhouse where a meal was laid on with wine and coffee for those that wanted it. As Stuart, Hannah, Brenda and the boss were talking, Stuart was called away to the reception hut, he grabbed Michael and together they went to see what all the fuss was about. At the main gate, were 6 campervans all wanting to come to the campsite and the girl in the on the reception desk didn't know what pitches she should put them on, so with Stuart saying to Michael, he thought they should start with pitch 1,3 and 5 on one side of the road, and 2,4, and 6 on the other side. Each campervan was given a small post that would fit into a hole already provided, on the post was a white name board, and the drivers of each campervan were asked to put their names and initials on the board, that way if they wanted to take their campervans away at any time, the pitch was saved. As Stuart and Michael walked back to the clubhouse, they both had smiles on there faces, back with there families and friends, they told everyone that they now had campervans on site plus tents, and it looked as if the site would do well.

It was 3 pm when the campsite got back to normal, with the Prime Minister now gone, plus those that were with him, life could get back to normal and Michael and his team could get back to working the daily routine that had been set out for them. Stuart also got a call from the Maltese bus company, they said that the bus that went to St Pauls Bay, would, if we liked the idea, would come into the campsite as far as the reception hut to take holidaymakers into Sliema and Valletta, this would be a half hourly service. Stuart said a very big yes, it would make life for the tent fraternity a lot easier to explore the island, and with the first bus at 6 am and the last at midnight, this was very good for all concerned, including the staff, however, Stuart arranged with the staff, those that wanted to use the bus would be given a pass and the there fares would be paid for by the site.

Brenda and the boss stayed on Malta for 14 days, they didn't interfere with Stuart and the work he was doing, however on the Sunday before they left, Hannah invited them to there caravan for dinner, she prepared a fantastic spread that both Brenda and the boss praised her for, it was while they were enjoying their coffee that Stuart put an idea to the boss. Look boss, we have 50 pitches for caravans and campervans, I, and Hannah agrees with me, we doubt we will get too many caravans, so we were wondering if we were to say buy 6 vans, like two 10 foot, two 12 foot and two 14 foot vans and park them up in the last six pitches, then holidaymakers could come out here for a holiday, and stay in a caravan instead of a hotel, what do you think". Brenda looked at her husband. "He does have a point love". she said. The boss just said. "Tell you what son, let me think about it, I will give you a ring when we get back to England". Brenda was looking at Stuart, she had that twinkle in her eye that Stuart seemed to recognise, the twinkle that said, fantastic idea, and I will make it happen.

Stuart and Hannah took Brenda and the boss to Luqa Airport, there were hugs and handshakes all round, and as Brenda went into the departure lounge she turned and blew Stuart a kiss. On the journey back to the campsite Stuart reached into his jacket pocket, he removed an envelope that had been put there by Brenda, he handed it to  Hannah who opened it, inside was a bundle of money and a note, Hannah read the note, This is your bonus for a job well done, you have once again put us on the world map. Hannah counted ten bundles of notes each bundle containing £1000. Hannah leaned across and kissed Stuart's cheek.

As they were driving along St Pauls bay road, Hannah told Stuart that her body was telling her it was time to have that baby, and if he was willing to try tonight, she felt she would fall pregnant right away. In bed that night, both Stuart and Hannah went to bed naked, with a large towel under Hannahs bottom, she lay ready for whatever lay ahead, with Stuart laid on top of Hannah, she accepted his entry and what followed very soon after, but Stuart had plans of his own, he had saved up for this one and had no intentions of letting his wife not get her wish. Stuart made love to his wife three times, and when Hannah thought he was going to rest, he stayed where he was, as he said to himself, better in than out, and if it cannot come ou, it must go in further and find those eggs. After an hour, Stuart pulled out of his wife and then using his own pillow, he placed it under her bottom, just as he said to help those pesky tadpoles to swim that last little bit. Getting out of bed Stuart went into the kitchen and made them both a cup of tea which he took back to bed. Both Stuart and Hannah slept like babies that night.

Over the summer the campsite was doing well, then one day Stuart got a call from the docks to tell him that 6 caravans were on the dockside, and they would be delivered to the campsite later in the day. With the caravans on site, things were really looking good, the ground crew and Michael made sure they were all sited correctly, each van had bottled gas and electricity so that those holidaymakers who wanted to try for a camping holiday, but also wanted a bit of comfort, had the best of both worlds.

In June July sat at the table Hannah said. "Stuart my love, I have to talk to you". he looked at her". What have I done now". he said, waiting for her to tell him off for leaving his socks lying on the floor, or leaving his small desk untidy. Stuart my love, nothing like that, it's just, well, your going to be a father, I am pregnant, and it looked like the baby will be born in late January, early February". Stuart went over to his wife and held her very gently> "That's wonderful news my darling, wonderful news, ok so we need a plan of action, I think we will have to go back to England in January, we can go back by ship, we can have a nice Christmas out here and head back to England after that, what do you say". "I thought We would have the baby out here". Hannah said. "No love, this baby will be English, then in later years, we can tell him his story, and he can make up his own mind if he wants to live out here, or in England, he won't even have a religious upbringing, he must decide". Hannah thought about what her husband was saying and agreed with him, it had to be his or her choice, not theirs.
