Mike's brain was going over it all, and as he was sat finishing off his tea, he hoped that he and Nann would be permitted to continue this crazy wonderful thing that they had started. As the day came to a close, and the two families made there way back to there cars, Mike and Nann held back, just enough to see kelvin and their parents going just out of sight. As they made their way to the car park, Mike had been talking to Nann about the Monday, and what they intended to do, as he saw the rest of the group disappear from view, he stopped, then holding Nann around the waist he drew her to him and kissed her. "I've had a great day," he said to her, "it was a lovely surprise, you being here." "me too," Nann said, "and I hope we have many more." "We will, we will, I promise," Mike told her. They heard a voice. "Come on you two, time to go." Mike and Nann got to the top of the rough steps and then quickly walked the last 50 yards or so to the cars, both were parked near each other, and as they joined their families, both Grace and Dorothy were deep in conversation about shops and shopping, and the two men were as usual talking cars. Mike gently touched Nann's hand and then joined Kelvin in the back seat of there car. "What are your plans for tomorrow bro," Mike asked Kelvin, "Not sure," Kelvin replied, "what are you doing if the weathers ok," Mike said, " I might stay at the boathouse and swim, or if the weather is rubbish, then go into Valletta." Kelvin looked at his brother. "With her, I suppose," pointing out of the window at Nann sitting in her father's car, Mike noticed she was looking in his direction, they both smiled at each other, and Nann mouthed see you, Mike smiled again then blew her a kiss. Kelvin saw the whole thing and said, "Yuk, girls, they're nothing but trouble." But Mike was happy and didn't care what his younger brother thought. On the way home very little was said. Ken and Dorothy were talking about things in general and Kelvin and Mike were looking out of the windows. As they were nearing home father suddenly turned to Kelvin. "Oh I forgot," he said, "I had a phone call yesterday from your schoolfriend's father, he asked if you would like to spend the week with them, seems they are planning a fishing trip on his boat." Kelvin's face lit up like a beacon. "When," he asked, "when." Ken looked at his wife. "They will pick you up at 10 tomorrow morning." Ken said, "can you be ready by then." Kelvin sat back in his seat. "You bet I can."He said.

There was mayhem in Kelvin's bedroom, the family had only been home for an hour, and already Kelvin had detailed his mum to help him get a week's clothing together for his week away. Ken had loaned his sone a small kitbag and Kelvin and Dorothy were putting stuff into it as if their lives depended on it. By the time Ken had put his head round the door to tell Dorothy, there was a cup of coffee on the table on the balcony, It was clear, that the job was still very much in progress and Ken made a hasty exit. Mike was on the balcony enjoying the last warmth of the day and thinking about the new love in his life. In two months he would be 16, and in 8 months, back in England. What if Nann and he hit it off big time, what if they fall deeply in love, what if...There were a lot of what ifs and let's face it, all he had done was kiss her. No, wait, he had touched her bust, but only with his thumb, but she did sort of moan. Stop thinking about the what ifs Michael and think about how far this can go. Mike smiled to himself as his mind wandered into places it shouldn't wander. His father came and joined him. "Alright son," he asked, "yes dad, great, it's been a really good day." "Mmmm." said his dad. "I did notice that you and Maureen were enjoying yourselves." "Yes dad," Mike said, " she's a really nice girl." Mother joined the two of them and slumped down into a spare seat. "That son of yours will be the death of me." she said, Father looked at her, "How come he's my son when he causes trouble, and your son when he does something good." They both looked at Mike, "Well," Dorothy said, "looks like you'll have to find other things to occupy your week son." Ken smiled, "Don't worry love, I think our son has plenty to keep him going, and not just for the holiday." Dorothy looked at them both. "What's going on," she asked. Ken looked at Mike, then at his wife. "You know," he said. "Maureen Taylor." "Oh that," she said, then looking at Mike, " you just be careful there son, the Taylor's are a nice family, and Grace and I very good friends." Mike's father put his hand on his son's shoulder. "Son," he said. "I will say this to you, if you get this girl pregnant, you will marry her, even if I have to drag you kicking and screaming to the alter myself. Do you understand?" "Yes dad," Mike said, "I understand, but it won't happen, I promise you. " "Well done son," his dad said, "have fun and enjoy yourselves, but no bun in the oven surprises, ok." "Ok dad," Mike said then looking at his mother he said. "Wheres Kelvin." Dorothy looked at her two men "he's still packing, you would think he was going away for a month instead of 5 days." Mike got up from his seat, kissing his mother on the cheek, he said, "Right, I am away to my bed, goodnight."

                                                  Chapter Five

Monday morning was beautiful, almost a clear blue sky and a very light breeze blowing into the creek. The sun was warm, more like high summer in England. Kelvin had already gone, he had been picked up at just after 09-45. Mike was down in the boathouse in shirt and trunks. He was taking a look at the canoe, she was ready for the water, having been repainted, and she looked like she did that first day she had been put in the water. As Mike ran his fingers over the shiny paintwork, he heard a voice, a soft female voice. "I wonder if you will ever touch me the way you have just touched that," it said. Mike turned to see Nann standing, watching him, she was smiling, her hands clasped in front of her, a large beach bag in her left hand. "How long have you been standing there," Mike asked, "Long enough," she answered, "to understand that you love that canoe." Mike walked towards her, and putting his arm around her waist he kissed her. "Mmm you taste good," he said, "and you don't smell too bad either." Nann bought her hand up to his face and lightly tapped his right cheek. Mike's face changed from one of joy to one of sadness. "What was that for," he asked," for being cheeky," she said, and then kissed the same cheek.

"Right," Mike said. "Everyone that rides in this canoe has to pass a swimming test, it's very easy. From the slipway, out to the black buoy." Mike pointed to a large can shaped buoy. "Then it's up to the yellow buoy, without touching it, and back to the black buoy, what do you reckon, can do," Mike asked. Nann looked at the coarse, "I reckon," she said. "Ok," Mike said, " I assume your costume is in your bag," Nann smiled, "No," she said, "I'm wearing it." lifting her pale yellow blouse over her head, Nann revealed the top part of a one piece costume in bright yellow, then undoing the buttons on the skirt and stepping out of it, she revealed the rest of it. Mike couldn't help but stare, Nann looked at him. "Mike love, please put your eyes back, there stuck out like organ stops." Mike apologised and taking his own top off they walked to the waters edge down the slipway. The water was warm on the slipway, and Mike said, "whenever your ready, go." Nann went into the water without a splash and with good strokes headed for the black buoy, she was doing very well and Mike realised that it would take all his skills to catch her up. Mike swam away from the slipway with his head down and a lungful of air inside him. he reached the buoy just as she did, and once there they both rested for a short while. "Ok," Mike asked, "ready for part two." "Yes," she said and was away again. Mike waited at the black buoy for her to come back, and it didn't take her long. Back at the buoy, Mike told her to take a breather, and as she got her breath back she held on to the wooden rails attached to the buoy. The pair of them were on the blind side of the creek, this meant that from the flats, they could not be seen. Mike put his hand under the water and clasped Nann around the waist, pulling her in close he kissed her long and hard, he could feel her body responding to his touch, and in the end, she let go of the rail and placed her hands around his neck. Under the water, her legs were wrapped around his, and it was Mike who was keeping them both afloat. Mike whispered in her ear. " We haven't finished the test yet." Nann pulled away. "Oh," she said, "what's next," Mie explained that she had to swim back to the slipway with him as if he was hurt. "Ok." Nann said, "let's do it," Nann did as asked by Mike, with Mike lay on the water and Nann holding him across his chest. Back at the boathouse, they rested on the slipway side by side the water lapping around there lower bodies, Mike sat up resting on his elbow he looked down on this vision of loveliness alongside him. His thoughts went back to May and how he had held her and kissed her in the school play, How far, would Nann let him go. As he looked down into her face, she was looking up at him, her face one big smile, putting her arms around his neck, she pulled him down towards her face, their mouths were touching lightly, Mike could taste the salt on her lips, he kissed her nose, then her eyes then moved up to her forehead, every kiss was the same, soft gentle and for Mike that salt taste, it wasn't unpleasant, because as he kissed her, he could also taste the female body that was her.

As Mike kissed her, she was letting out little whimpers, like a puppy having a daydream while it slept, and the more Mike kissed her the more her body tried to mould its self to his. After some 15 minutes, Mike had to come up for air, but Nann still had her hands around his neck. "Michael," Nann asked, "What do you want from me," Mike looked down at her,  "I want you," Mike answered. Nann nodded. "And I want you also, but I am still a virgin and want to remain so until I am 16, I am happy to give you anything you want, but not that, or at least not yet.
